Labradorite is a feldspar mineral that has a rainbow of flash called labradorescence. It was first found in Labrador, Canada, although it can be found in many countries like Australia, Finland, China, the Adirondack mountains in New York, and Madagascar. The Inuit people have one myth surrounding the crystal which is that at one point in time the Aurora Borealis froze then fell from the sky and became trapped inside these rocks found on the coast of Labrador. The Inuit people felt that they can see their ancestors in the Northern Lights (Aurora Borealis) so to them these crystals hold the spirit of their ancestors.
Labradorite Hardness: 6 - 6.5
