Rhodonite Moon

This listing is for one carved Rhodonite Moon.  This piece approximately weighs 8 grams and measures 1.25" by 1".

Rhodonite comes from the word rhodon, meaning "rose" in Greek.  Rhodonite is an uncommon mineral consisting of a pink manganese inosilicate.  It is a member of the mineral group pyroxenoid, crystalizing in the triclinic system.  Black manganese oxides occur as a matrix within the stone making it look like it has black veining throughout the stone.
